The RyeNeo
The RyeNeo
The story continues….(SEE PT.1) After parkouring over some barrels, it was told there was a neopolitan cask. Ylli and Long looked at eachother thinking 'huh?' No B.S. it was what you thought it was- the ice cream expression. The first ever toasted rye cask ever done and one of their oldest neo bourbons ever experimented with… It didn’t take long for smiles to be on the face of Ylli and Long being whiplashed into their childhood. No matter how you were raised, there is something nostalgic of the individual flavors that come from each independent ingredient that makes the neopolitan flavor. It took all of 10 seconds before Long had to change his boxers.
The bourbon was the first pick, where the age of the OG juice played way too well with the finishing casks. Talk about a berry bomb, with the vanilla bourbon notes being elevated ten ways past Sunday. The rye however….this probably took the cake. Toasted rye is a delicacy.Throw in these finishes and you have yourself the perfect chocolate toasted wafer that really, really, really needs to be put on the shelf- or it’s going to be one of those nights. Just ask the guys at Allocated what happened to the sample bottles.
All-in-all, these two picks are truly one of a kind. A quadruple barrel masterpiece. If you’re a strawberry fan, get the bourb and if you’re a rye fan, get the rye. You can’t go wrong with either. Savor slowly!
