American whiskey has always been, and always will be, a blue-collar drink. It’s crafted to be bought, opened, enjoyed, and shared among friends, all at a price point that doesn't require a second mortgage. If you’ve spent any time at Allocated, you know that Rittenhouse is one of the crew’s favorite entry-level ryes. It hits the sweet spot of being; affordable, easy to sip neat for those new to the category, yet bold enough to stand up in your favorite cocktail.

When the opportunity arose to select a Rittenhouse single barrel, the team jumped at the chance. What they didn’t expect was to receive samples that absolutely hit the mark for two completely different reasons.

As mentioned before, Rittenhouse is an ALCTD staple. And while the team might be biased, they don’t pick barrels just for the sake of it. They are particularly picky when it comes to rye; after all, Alaska is Corn Country, where bourbon rules supreme. To pivot the local palate toward rye, the liquid has to be approachable and undeniably not spicccy.

This marks the first rye release of the year for ALCTD and no other brand would be more fitting. It also happens to be the most nice-price single barrel select ALCTD has ever offered. This was released in conjunction with FDI’s Rittenhouse coined The Yin, to showcase two whole different stylistic rye profiles. We’ll have the market decide which one truly takes the cake.
