Behind The Bottle

A dedication bottle for our main man Chris, The King.

For those of you who know Chris F. from beer groups, you know his nickname is The King. Guess what his golden standard bottle of bourbon is? Heaven Hill 7 Year Bottled-in-Bond. It’s the King’s world and we’re all just living in it. Hence, the name of this release; The Kingsman. Trust me, we wanted to name it The Kingsmen, but we don’t want the cease and desists.

Heaven Hill 7 Year Bottled-in-Bond is often hailed as one of the best, because of the balance. 7 years in the barrel, showcasing; caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, and a touch of spice. When Long delivers two drams to truly decide if you like bourbon (as a category) or not, it’s HH7BIB and WR Double Oak.

This is the first HH7BIB private barrel expression in the State of Alaska (thank you Daddy Heaven Hill <3). We knew we wanted to pick it for better or for worse. Why? Because, at the end of the day, we wanted to showcase why a single barrel is different. Different is why we select the barrels that we do. We are more than happy to sell the flagship Heaven Hill expression for those who love it, but if you wanted to try what a single barrel tastes like in comparison to a cuvee of thousands of barrels, this is the perfect bottle. Same age, same proof, same everything. Same-same, but different.

Is this better than the core expression of HH7BIB on the rack? We’ll leave that up to you to decide.
