The Library Batch
If you like big bourbons and you cannot lie- this is a bottle for you!
For those unfamiliar with Dream Spirits, it’s the passion project of Prav Saraff, owner of 1 West Dupont Circle Wine & Spirits in D.C.. Prav has deep roots in Kentucky, and while he’s known for running a shop that cares as much about the experience as the bottle itself (sound familiar?), he has also made serious waves with Dream Spirits by sourcing absolutely insane single casks.
Dream Spirits is a community-driven whiskey brand—built around sharing unique pours, nerding out over flavor, and comparing single barrels against their distillery’s standard releases. That ethos is exactly where ALCTD’s Library Batch found its inspiration.
When the ALCTD team heard that Prav had access to single barrel Booker’s laid down—extra aged, too—it didn’t take long for the conversation to start rolling. A Booker’s barrel that’s 3-4 years older than anything the Booker’s line typically releases... for roughly the same cost? Yeah. It’s a no brainer.
Once the samples arrived, the variation between barrels was surprising. Each one carried that classic Booker’s profile—big oak, tobacco, spice, honeyed depth—but one barrel stood above the rest. It was the most Booker’s of the Booker’s: cherry pipe tobacco, rich seasoned oak, deep barrel spice, and that unmistakable Jim Beam backbone.
The ALCTD crew really wanted to select a Booker’s pick that resonated with the Booker’s fans out there. This is not a sweet and smoof bourbon. This is big and bold. Fans of Jim Beam products will likely love the juice that is in the bottle, but it is not for the faint of heart.
