American Single Malt is a new whiskey category that has been blowing up in popularity. Recently recognized by the TTB (Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau), as it joins the ranks of Bourbon and Scotch as a defined and protected style of whiskey. We, at the shop, have had a lot, and we do mean a lot of American single malts, but nothing comes close to Westland Whiskey.

Malted. Matured. Made. In America. Westland started because of their deep obsession with flavor, looking to find the identity of what the Pacific North West really can make. The west is already known for its hops and renowned craft beer scene, so it was a no-brainer to see what the west’s hops can do when it gets distilled.

From the beginning, their approach was different. American whiskey had largely been focused on corn and consistency, shaped by uniformity. They were looking for something else entirely: a whiskey that could express where it was made. A whiskey that could evolve. A whiskey that felt alive. And so American Single Malt became not just a category they established and championed, but a mission they helped shape.
