Whiskey, tequila, and champagne- these are the pillars of Allocated’s inventory. This love was set in stone with ALCTD’s very first barrel pick: a tequila.

As the ALCTD team has rolled out a reposado, extra añejo, and cristalino (under FDI), it only makes sense to round it all out with an añejo. But not just any añejo- the best of the best.

Arette is Long’s favorite tequila brand in the shop for several reasons. It’s Mexican-owned, single-estate agave, and completely additive-free. A beautifully clean tequila for true tequila lovers. If you’re familiar with Tears of Llorona, this añejo expression is in the same vein. If your preference leans toward the Fortaleza profile, you’ll likely be drawn to our other favorite, Cazcanes.

It’s been said many times in the shop: añejos and extra añejos exist mainly because of the United States. Down in Jalisco, you’d be hard-pressed to find locals drinking anything beyond a reposado. The joke? Americans want their tequila to taste like whiskey. And honestly... they’re not wrong.

That said, while our NULU A-Cuatro was a high-octane sweet bomb that any spirits drinker would appreciate, this Arette añejo is all about balance. Our first true no-additive tequila from Jalisco, it tastes like tequila- just with the perfect touch of oak influence. We waited eight months for a single barrel from Arette before we even got the call, and it was well worth it. Savor and share this one slowly.
