The Reserves Collection #01
The Reserves Collection #01
It comes to no surprise that Allocated is a huge Wild Turkey house. With that being said, it came to no surprise that when it came to priorities for single barrels, Russell’s was the top of the list.
No. They do not bottle at cask strength. There’s a reason why Russell’s Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson E goes for $500, while this bottle is under $100. It’s marketing. It’s business. It is what it is. Now, onto the story behind the actual bottle.
With the success of ALCTD’s last release, they knew that if a single barrel from a Kentucky OG were to be bottled, it had to truly be same-same, but different. This pick was chosen during the annual ALCTD KY trip, where Long and Ylli had local Alaskan Tater Scott M. with them, as Scott alone has consumed more Wild Turkey products than both of Long and Ylli combined.
As everyone walked into the rickhouse, everyone knew the deal- no talking, no stats, no information, nothing. Blind. As all barrel picks should be. The end goal of this pick was to make people fall in Russell’s all over again. Finding the one barrel that really pulled the pants off and said pick me.
5 barrels were laid out in front of them. 5 were meticulously sampled. This expression is what everyone agreed upon, which truly represented Russell’s Reserve as a brand. One so distinctly Russell’s that it had to be coined as Batch #01 for ALCTD’s new Russell’s Reserve The Reserves Collection.
Beautifully refined oak, orange peels and subtle sweetness. This is a no-bullshit bourbon select at it’s finest.
