BEHIND THE BOTTLE

PSA: If you’re looking for Hyper Fiori (our recent release of Elijah Craig under the FDI umbrella), this is not it.

This is a start of a series Allocated is calling The Generations, as the team delves into what Elijah Craig Single Barrels truly have to offer, with a fun tater sticker paying homage to the most iconic video games within the last few decades.

This pick was conceived during the annual FY25 Allocated Kentucky trip. As the team rolled in, it was business as usual. It always starts with a meeting with the lovely Sylvia, from Heaven Hill, allowing the team to discuss and dictate key profiles they are looking for in the EC single barrel they were going to give the rose to that day.

While the team knew how much of a banger the last EC (Hyper Fiori) pick was, they cannot and will not do a back-to-back when it comes to any Heaven Hill product. There is too much fun/unique barrels in the house. So, what did Ylli and Long decide on? A heavy dark cocoa bomb, with rich lingering tannins while keeping the quintessential caramel EC note. While they both know this won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, this is what the mission was, as on the same trip, there were too many sweet and smoof girls that were in the ALCTD pipeline.

After, three separate flights- nailing down and discussing what they liked and didn’t like from certain casks. It was the eighth barrel they tried that really took the cake for what the team wanted.

Hilariously enough, the barrel pick they ended up selecting was indeed the only one from the Deatsville.
