BEHIND THE PICK

For AWGF’s J. Mattingly Batch #10- and the highly anticipated fourth series of the Fiori Label light whiskies, the mission was simple: find a certified banger that packed a massive punch. Ylli tasked the boys at J. Mattingly with finding something along those lines, and sure enough, they delivered an absolute monster.

The final result is a staggering 150.00 proof light whisky single barrel that completely blew our minds. It genuinely defies logic- how can a whiskey with a proof this incredibly high taste so remarkably smoof and silky?

We knew it was something special when Ylli tasted the lineup blind and picked this exact batch three separate times. For him, it was the clear winner. But you know ALCTD does things around here, so we had to put it to the ultimate test. Ylli poured blind samples for a wildly diverse group: two serious whisky experts, a handful of everyday drinkers and one unapologetic basic bitch who just loves drinking good whisky without hype and price in mind.

To Ylli’s absolute surprise, every single person independently picked the exact same one. When a 150 proof pour gets a unanimous blind vote from a room like that? Done deal.
